April Showers....

Plant A Seed Project

Little Sprouts Program

Our garden workshops will teach Little Sprouts, of all ages, the tools necessary to live a limitless life, through art and nature. We aim to encourage our future generations to be accountable and empowered to make a difference, starting right in their own backyard.

We’ll work together to learn the importance of going green. Each student will pick a plant to research and have an opportunity to put his or her knowledge to the test in our Little Sprouts Garden. This program is dedicated to enhancing each Sprout’s aptitude in areas such as: Writing Skills, Reading Comprehension, Environmental Awareness, Responsibility, Communication, Confidence and Independence.

Our Sprouts will be given the opportunity to express themselves artistically with hands on activities. Both art and nature possess healing qualities that can’t be beat.

The House of Hope Garden will provide a unique opportunity to our community’s handicapable sprouts. We’ve created an effortless garden full of wheelchair friendly paths and raised gardens. All Sprouts will be empowered when they independently grow a plant from seed and nurture it into abundant adulthood.

Each student will need to purchase a Little Sprouts Start-Up Kit which includes:
How to Grow Your Own Guide, gloves, mini shovel, mini rake, two terra cotta pots, kneeling pad, two kids seed packs, Little Sprout T-shirt, and a garden tub.

Thank You!!!

We would like to thank two of our Little Sprouts, Sossi and Yabbi, and their mom Ganet for all the hard work today in the garden. They helped weed the volleyball court and remove rocks!

Rain, Rain Go Away!

Although, thanks to El Nino, our Easter celebration was a wash, we had a fantastic celebration to kickoff the season! We had to bring the party inside. There was still an egg hunt that was neck and neck, as well as some pictures to share.

So far, April has been unseasonably soggy. By now, in the great state of California, we are basking in the sun and well on our way to garden bliss.

The good news is that we've had enough rain to last us until next season! Although we haven't had the pleasure of watching the baby plants turn into teenagers, mother nature has taken the reigns and we're full speed ahead toward sunnier days.

We have a long way to go...

...but some day soon...

...these babies will be monsters!

Enjoy the view....
